Arsenal Midfielder Alex Iwobi sign more three years contract

Arsenal Midfielder Alex Iwobi been the nephew of Jay-Jay Okocha former super eagle player and also one of the best Nigeria has ever had as agreed to sign/played for Arsenal for three years again on Friday in London.

The super eagle player and also young Arsenal player Alex Iwobi has been said to impress the new gunners boss “Unai Emery” which is why they asked him to sign more three years contract.

Alex Iwobi has been playing for Arsenal for more than four years now and also when he was nine years old he played for Arsenal academy which has been his biggest dream so far which he appeared at the age of 22 which was his first appearance then.

Alex Iwobi also has good relationship with the former Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger who has already left the team and new manager Unai Emery, an indication that the Nigerian international will equally have an impressive atmosphere to showcase his talent.

He has nine goals so far in his 98 appearances and his wasteful finishing has been a source of frustration among fans.

New Arsenal coach Unai Emery was also delighted with the news, citing Iwobi as an example for other youth players to follow. "I’m very pleased Alex has signed a new contract with us," the manager said. "He is a great example of a player who can succeed from the Academy through hard work and I look forward to working with him and our other talented young players in the squad.”

Hinted last month Iwobi was close to agreeing new terms and the Nigeria international has now put pen to paper.
“I’m very pleased Alex has signed a new contract with us,” said Emery.

“He is a great example of a player who can succeed from the academy through hard work and I look forward to working with him and our other talented young players in the squad.”

Iwobi who put up a good show at the World Cup in Russia despite the Eagles inability to go beyond the first round, expressed satisfaction with his new deal adding that it is yet an opportunity to do more for a club that has always been after his heart from childhood.

“I always realize that I have to be representing the team and giving 100 per cent at all times. It’s not just I or my family I’m representing; I also represent the people and the younger generation as well.”
Mesut Ozil and Granit Xhaka also signed new deals this year, but Aaron Ramsey's future remains in doubt as the Welshman has so far refused to accept an offer from the Gunners as he enters the final year of his deal.

“Really pleased to extend my contract & commit my future to this special club. From under 6 to big17 so many people have helped me. Thank you. Grateful to our new manager for the faith shown in me & our fans for the love, support & patience”.

However, the new deal is a sign Emery hopes to help the Nigeria international develop, although he faces stiff competition for a starting place from the likes of Ozil, Ramsey and Henrikh Mkhitaryan this season.

"To get an extended contract is an amazing feeling and I hope I'm doing the Arsenal family proud," Iwobi said. "The first kit that I had was Arsenal and long may I continue to represent them."
