In American why does 33% of their population have bachelor degree or higher?

Because in America you can become a plumber, mechanic, HVAC service technician, etc., and make a good salary working for someone else for a while and then start your own business if you wish.
Many of our highly educated people, particularly those with liberal arts degrees, find this distasteful because that capitalistic cancer symptom, i.e., “the law of supply and demand”, often results in the “uneducated” making as much and in many cases more income than those with advanced degrees.
Why?
For example, when your heating unit ceases to function, an HVAC tech can repair it. I’ve yet to see a even a graduate degree in women’s studies fix a non-functioning woman.
Okay, okay, I know that last sentence is a bit facetious & ridiculous, but there are people in the U.S. with a staggering amount of student loan debt as the result of a degree that has no real earning potential.
I also know people who have degrees in disciplines such as engineering, yet work in totally unrelated fields or own businesses that have nothing to do with their degree, and these folks make “handsome” livings. One has a cookie company that has exploded with profitability.
