How PDP Senators charge APC colleagues and have start taking signatures for the impeachment of Bukola Saraki

Some senators on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have raised an alarm claiming that their colleagues in the APC have started collecting signatures for the impeachment of Bukola Saraki.

Saraki, the president of the Senate, has remained in the leadership position days after he dumped the ruling APC. Senator Dino Melaye, a close ally of Saraki and former member of the APC, made the allegation on behalf of the PDP senators.

Daily Trust also quoted an unnamed senator as saying: “The senators loyal to the government are now convening in Sheraton Hotel where the illegal impeachment exercise will be commencing. You can quote me on this.” The report said no senator on the platform of the APC was in the National Assembly in the morning of Tuesday, August 7, when there was tension in the chamber. It was learnt that only senators and members of the Senate and the House of Representatives on the PDP platform were at the National Assembly.
