South Koreans to reunite with rare family reunions

Are the Korean War in North Korean which took place in 1950-1953 between North Korean and South Korean which led to series of clashes which cause the splitting of the two states with their governments claiming to be the sole legitimate of all Korea by not accepting the border as permanent.

So now Some group of elderly men who are from South Korean was able to reunite with family members who have not been seen or heard from since the last Korean war took place about 69 years ago which made it difficult whereby some families were been separated from each other.


After the agreement under the Panmujom Declaration which was signed by Moon Jae-in been the South Korean President while the North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has been said to be one of the most historic summated for this year. 


Base on the report giving by some of our team they included that about 57,000 people are now hoping to be able to take part and also that about 94 different families were selected for the reunion.
More than about 70% of those who are seeking for reunion are about 90 years old and also have been accompanied on bus by their children’s and also alongside with some of their relatives.

The reunion is to last for about three days which is said to commence today been Monday 20/08/2018 – 23/08/2018 at the Mount Kumgang resort. One of them was this North Korean women Madam Less Keum-Seom a 92 years old and frail women who lost her son who is now 71 and also her husband during the war with her four year old son after they flew to different side now will be accompany for the reunion.

What Madam feels

“I really don’t know how I feel right now, if it is good or bad but one thing I know for sure is to be sure if it is a dream or a real something to come”

Some who are been selected for this have not be able accept the fact that their son or daughter have died long ago, but they can only meet some distant relative that they have not seen before. About 140,000 families in South Korean have signed for the reunion to take place since some of them have died already.
