American’s celebrated 242nd Independence Day Remarks Amb. P. Jackson



The united state celebrated their Independence Day celebration in Ghana on July 4, 2018 and Jackson been the Ambassador thanked those people of Ghana for welcoming and also friendship which they has offered within his tenure as the ambassador, he also praised Ghana partnership with the united states for the past 61 years which had been of help to both countries. Ambassador Jackson said that the relationship began during centuries ago and it is one of the lowest points in history, which had made them to overcome historic evils and also to create new beginnings among themselves.

After making the remarks the said that his outgoing Deputy Chief of Mission, Melinda Tabler-Stone and incoming Deputy Chief of Mission, Christopher Lamora he welcomed them to the US Embassy. Tonight we are celebrating the 242nd anniversary of the united state independence he honored the pioneers who came to the United States for religious liberty and also the economic opportunity giving to them. And he said that they will continue to seek for the perfect union created by Justice and to secure the blessings of liberty.



He said that today was marked the sixty one (61) years of partnership between the united state and Ghana, where more than 15,000 Americans have also made Ghana their home and more than 3,000 studied at different Ghana universities.   
And event great numbers of Ghanaians have also stayed in the united state for at least 20-35 years or more and they are even enrolled in different colleagues and universities over there and those tourists who travel back to do entrepreneurs he also thanked them for trade that exceeded $2 billion in 2017.    

Wilbur Ross secretary of commerce was praised for joining them in the anniversary where he said that it serve as evidence for the importance of U.S government so as to strengthening the trade relations with Ghana and also as the gateway to Africa which pays a vital role for the United state companies.
He said that the investments also created employment for those Ghanaians and also has help to stimulate economic growth, which had been prosperous. He added that as he is preparing to be a private citizen that he is happy to have represented the united state of America and his goals was to make people lively freely and make their life better such as giving better education and also been  healthier.     

As a former teacher he believe that the importance of education and literacy so he is proud of their partnership for education program for the past two years which had reached over 800,00 primary school students with also about four million books and teacher training aid material that helps the children to read well  
He also mentioned that this past years Ghana demonstrated its military leadership by becoming the first African partner nation to train U.S Army forces so he wish that Ghana and US will continue to work side by side and maintain peace. 

Finally, I am proud that we are making unreliable electricity a problem of the past.  Through our Millennium Challenge Power Compact, Ghanaians will have reliable and affordable energy that will promote greater industrialization and opportunities to add value to Ghana’s exports.

He gave thanks to Margaret Langer, Maurice Jackson, and all of the other people who worked so hard to make this event a success. Later laid to the toast where he said that to good health and long life of His Excellency President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as well as to the united state and to Ghana.
